Last summer our family packed in preparation for our holiday. It took most of the day to get ready and load the car, allowing for everything needed by 3 children, 2 adults and 1 dog. A long drive lay ahead and the car was loaded with gadgets and entertainment devices to keep the kids happy. This included MP3 players and handheld games consoles, mobile phones, a camera and a camcorder. Plus, of course, a tangled mess of chargers, cables and power adaptors.
Needless to say we lost some of the chargers during the trip and would have welcomed a simpler solution. A new product called POWERMAT may be just the thing. This compact mat charges devices placed upon it, assuming they have a charging sensor. Given that sensors can be built into cases and add-ons for existing devices even current products can be charged up. Presumably future devices could support wireless charging as standard.
Although I have no direct experience with the device the idea seems sensible and I welcome a future of wireless charging. The product designers also seem to be making good use of sound and light feedback to tell you when something is charging and when a device is fully charged. Not having to find the right charger and not having to carry multiple versions around will be a relief. Who knows perhaps this kind of charging solution could be built into cars in the future, that way long journeys will be really quiet!

Not a fan Owen, I get that you have a lot of plugs. But this is essentially a universal charger not wireless electricity (its just a really short wire). The real wireless tech is cool, but you couldn't even use these devices while charging with this powermat.
Just my opinion
