Mohammad presentation on content MarketingOn 2nd October 2013, in Civil Auditorium of NED University of Engineering and Technology, we conducted one of the biggest events on Cyber Security & Content Marketing which attracted over 550 attendees from all over Karachi city but due to Tickets Limitation only 300 students could get the pass. It was a combined work shop by Rafay Baloch of RHA Info Sec and STC Network. The event was initially planned during March but was later postponed to October 2nd. We had an exciting experience with the enthusiastic youth out there. I loved the enthusiasm displayed by the thirsty students who dreamt of escaping the current failed system of Job Oriented society and wished to step ahead towards a more brighter future with a keen determination to step into Online Business and make a sustainable Income online without a Boss and Fear of Job security. With 10% penetration in online market, Pakistan is currently 27th largest internet user today with India being 3rd Largest Internet user globally. I started my presentation with Tim Berners-Lee invention of world wide web back in October 1994 and later disclosed the 16 Most highly practiced Content Marketing Strategies Online that has reshaped Businesses Online like never before. Following are some details of what actually we discussed that day.

What is "BluePrint to PlanB"?

It's the scheme Internet Marketer follow to turn every internet user into an asset and finally into a cash stream. Investors today pay heavily in web applications, services and tools because who would simply avoid an educated crowd of over 2 billion people online without turning them into a cash flow system. With examples such as amazon, ebay, kickstarter, Social media sites, PlayStore, appStore and ecommerce  sites, anyone who has not yet stepped into online business is missing a bucket full of golden eggs waiting to be hatched out.

Since every Learning domain has a Beginner level from where you start understanding the A-Z guide, I often encourage students across the country to take the first step by creating a simple blog. Not for earning purpose but to establish every simple technical skill required to jump to a much better Income Mechanism. Today more and more new comers are turning into content publishers, but due to lack of training, weak basics, most of them end up their careers as bloggers and never as entrepreneurs.

Plan A

A Plan oriented individual is always led by society norms and rules, he is always the follower and never an initiator. This spoon fed life which starts from school level and continues till graduation leads him to his ultimate goal and that is "The hunt for Job". He is always afraid to invest his energies into a more productive form of work. Take an example of a school nerd, whose ultimate aim is scoring high in class. He may be good in studies but poor in extra curricular activities, poor in communication skills and social interaction. Most of PlanA oriented students often fell prey to depression and frustration. Upon completion of their graduation they are left with nothing but fixed salary jobs where they spend rest of their lives, dreaming of getting a sustainable Income one day but they die as normal citizens and never as big names that could be remembered for decades.

A survey shared by NDTV showed a dramatic increase in suicide rates. India had more than 187,000 suicides in 2010 with USA crossing 37,790. The cause for these suicides amongst student community is often linked to hopelessness and the reason for hopelessness is the struggle of excelling in education so that they could dream of becoming successful one day. For them failure in academic is failure in life and this misconception turns them into Knowledge worshippers rather knowledge appliers. The trend of higher studies is tremendously increasing and most people go for a Masters Degree because they believe that they will get opportunity of a much bigger employed life but never do they think once of applying the Precious college knowledge to its proper use.

Innovative ideas come to people who have the confidence to take risks and to take initiative in executing their plans. Today institutes, teachers and parents pay great focus to 100% excellence in education but rarely do they motivate students to distribute 70% of their time to education and the remaining 30% to extra curricular activities, innovations and building Tech skills. They would encourage a student with full attendance, great marks but never a student with 70% study performance who dedicated the remaining 30% to develop entrepreneurship skills. Nick D' Aloisio was an average school going guy but his summly App that he created during his 10th grade got sold out for $30 Million US Dollars. The credit goes to his parents who taught him programming skills (being taught at university level) at an early age when he was just 15! I salute such parents and such students.

Which plan did Nick follow?

Plan B

Self Fed, financially stable, always hungry and thirsty to innovate and create something new and unique. That's what that defines a Plan B oriented mind. Can a Plan A student pause his university studies in middle just because he needs more time to turn his innovation into reality? Of course he wont, but people like bill gates, Abraham Lincoln, zukerberg, Oprah, John Mackey, Ted Turner,  were amongst those who taught they will better apply knowledge and never worship it blindly. PlanB believers look for opportunities and the moment they find a loop hole, they give their best to utilize it properly. They are always students with secret DEXTER Laboratories, workshops at their homes, always looking to learn and apply. They are more practical thinkers and better planners. They are normal students but they don't keep one goal in life, they keep multiple and they keep playing with them all. They never follow social trend. They try to develop college skills during school life and university standard skills during college life. They are always ahead of time and never bond their potentials to social restrictions set by the dead slow walking society. They dream of empires and never getting enslaved by big giants. They never dream of joining Microsoft or Google but they dream of inventing one of their own. They are indeed Plan executors and day dreamers!

I hope I managed to explain my point of view clearly. People often misinterpret me as if I am forcing people to kick education and start making money while in fact my ideology is linked with this simple concept and that is:

Education without application is like buying cents for dollars. A Map without key.

Event Highlights - Video

Abdul Wali from OnlineUstaad.com captured some interesting moments and I would like to share it with all of you. I am sharing such a long conversation for the first time online, so forgive me if I slipped anywhere.
This will give a bird view of entire discussion. Please remember that Blogging is one out of 16 content marketing strategies that I follow and I shared it that day with the statement that

"Blogging is just one way to make money, you can try out other ways also and I no more recommend blogging as the only source of earning - the remaining methods have a much higher potential"

Note: This discussion has a lot of interesting parts and a lot of laughter that has not been recorded because the camera lost its charge but you can still enjoy watching the few glimpses.

A Motivation to existing and new entrepreneurs.

Muhammad Salman was a guy six months back with no extra ordinary Technical Web skills and today he created his own Online community where students and teachers interact on a single platform. He created this entire community, coding every bit himself.

Wali is an interesting guy who can't be summed up in few words. This guy is running an online business without having gone to School ever in his life! He worked day and night to come to this stage and today he is a self made person publishing URDU based tutorials. He is indeed an inspiration for all of us.

If Wali had given up few years ago then he would have never stood up today narrating his inspirational story to us. He preferred thinking like a PLanB individual and never accepted ranking himself inferior as society had planned for him. So what if he could not go to school, he learnt it him self without a teacher! He now speaks and writes better URDU then me without any doubts.

We thank everyone who travelled a long journey to meet us and attend the workshop. It's our dearest desire to motivate and promote new comers and existing talent in the country. To fulfill this dream we are coming to Islamabad to the heart of the country to organize Pakistan's biggest IT professional's meet up and to meet Online community and Techy geeks across the country. I will be accompanied with renown TV anchors like Raza Rumi, international authors and journalists. My primary objective would be to share my experiences and yet learn from your experiences. I love staying stupid and thirsty for knowledge. Due to my severe health conditions, we had to postpone the event on 12th October and we would re-organize it in December once my exams are over. The organizers will announce the event details very soon and we will make sure to keep you updated. It will be held in Fijis's Café with specially invited and registered attendees. Thank you for always being a great source of motivation. Thank you to NED university and NES society for honoring us with an opportunity to share our Online business ideas with the student community.
